Flea Remedies

Sandy, my Bichon has fleas now. We have been putting Advantage on her from the vet but it is not working at all. Is there anything else I can use, like brewers yeast? I am going to call the vet on Monday and ask for something else too maybe. Is it that Advantage just doesn't work on these types of dogs? We have never had this kind of problem with this med before. Thanks...

Hi Sabrina
Fleas - horrible little mites. Have you washed Sandy's bedding and aired her sleeping area?
Maybe she is getting re-infested? Also, do you have other animals that she could be coming into contact with who have not been flead? Maybe try a different brand of flea control.
I use Advantage on Molly and don't have a problem - thankfully, as she comes onto my bed each morning.

I had to switch to Frontline.
Advantage stopped working on my Bichon. Frontline doesn't seem to irritate his skin as much either.
I couldn't use Advantick at all, because it burned his skin. good luck.
